Conscious investing goes beyond impact investing. A person consciously decides to proactively make a positive difference in the world with their money and pursues the intention of initiating systemic change.

First and foremost, younger generations invest much more consciously today, they ask questions, are much more critical and change banks more quickly.

How do you check that companies are not green-washing?
By setting measurable impact targets and reporting to our investors what sustainable impact the company has on society or the environment. Impact has to be a core part of the DNA of the company.
What is it like for you in the financial world today?
It’s important for me to stay true to myself. I’m passionate about what I do and don't try to suppress my feminine side in the tough business world.

Dr Christin ter Braak-Forstinger, LL.M. is the founder and managing director of Chi Impact Capital and is passionate about the shift towards a regenerative economy and deep impact economy. She has many years of experience in the financial services industry and in private equity, impact investing and sustainable investment. She is also an author, keynote speaker and juror and a long-time university lecturer on impact investing. In her private life, she is co-founder of the award-winning NGO Braveaurora, which has been active in Northern Ghana since 2009. Christin enjoys spending her free time with her family in nature or meditating.
